Sergio Palomares

Multidisciplinary artist and passionate about movement arts. Both from an artistic and pedagogical point of view, interested in integrating different movement languages such as acrobatics, dance and Contact Improvisation (CI). Background in martial arts (taekwondo, capoeira and aikido), trampoline gymnastics, contemporary dance, circus and acrobatic portés. Professor of circus acrobatics since 2012 and CI since 2016.
In 2019 he participates as a teacher teaching the Contact Improvisation module in the 1st Course of Elcirca (Latin American School of Contemporary Circus of Jalisco, Guadalajara, Mexico), where he combines the language of CI and different circus disciplines.
In 2020 he attends the January CI Workshop by Nancy Stark Smith at Earth Dance (Massachusetts, USA).
Postgraduate in Performing Arts and Education from the Institut del Teatre, Barcelona 2022.
He has taught at many meetings, festivals and intensive workshops in countries in America, Europe and Asia. From 2020 to 2022 he was part of the CI training program at Enestudio, Barcelona, teaching the subject of "Acrobatics and Contact".
In recent years he has been increasingly inspired, both in his dance and in his pedagogy, by somatic approaches to movement. Based on anatomical and physiological knowledge, as well as different methodologies, he is interested in researching movement patterns in search of the greatest possible organicity and efficiency during the practice of CI.
